Style: Modern Parisian glam with an earthy twist.
This 472 sq foot space houses a retail store and adjoining custom dress shop. This project had several goals 1) create an efficient layout for displaying merchandise and allowing customers to shop, socialize, and be fitted/consulted.
In the retail store, I chose to anchor storage shelves and racks along the walls, leaving the center open for a circular traffic flow. It was important to maximize the amount of time shoppers want to spend in the space; so accent benches and armchairs allow for a place to try on shoes or take a rest.
Wall moldings, mint green paint, archways, and brass finishes created a , Parisian-inspired look, while also juxtaposed by warm rustic elements.
Unlike the typical retail store layout that keeps the cash wrap counter more concealed, I choose to make it the focal point so customers could be greeted upon entry and assisted throughout their visit.
In the dress shop, I created fitting rooms using three partitions with luxe curtains fit privacy. The center floor features an area for customers to lounge and sip champagne with friends and family for a personalized shopping experience.
I carried in the same visual elements from the retail store for cohesion. Empty areas were also used as an opportunity to display additional merchandise.
